Directional deliberation on “Cow-Based Brown Revolution: A Path to Nation Building”

Key Address by Dr. Vallabhbhai Kathiria at TOI National CSR Summit 2026

With the objective of actively linking Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) with nation building, the Times Foundation of the Times of India Group recently organized the TOI National CSR Summit 2026 in New Delhi. At this prestigious national summit, Dr. Vallabhbhai Kathiria, Founder of the Global Confederation of Cow Based Industries (GCCI) and former Union Minister, attended as the keynote speaker and delivered a comprehensive, thoughtful, and visionary address on the theme “Cow-Based Brown Revolution: A Path to Nation Building” through CSR. The summit was attended by Union ministers, leading industrialists, CSR heads, corporate leaders, policymakers, government officials, UN agencies, and international development partners from across the country.

Beginning his address, Dr. Kathiria stated that the soul of India’s culture, economy, and rural life is inseparably connected with the cow. He emphasized that the greatest need of the present time is to move beyond limiting development to GDP or profit and instead connect it with humanity, environmental sustainability, and intergenerational models of growth. In this direction, the cow-based Brown Revolution offers an inclusive development model. He strongly highlighted that Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is no longer merely a legal obligation or expenditure but can become a powerful instrument for the corporate sector’s direct participation in nation building. If CSR is integrated with a cow-based economy, natural farming, Panchagavya, bio-energy, and rural industries, it can prove to be life-transforming for millions of farmers, livestock rearers, and rural youth in the country.

Dr. Kathiria further stated that indigenous cow-based natural farming not only preserves soil fertility but also reduces farmers’ input costs and increases their income. Panchagavya-based fertilizers, medicines, and health products can generate local employment in villages while reducing environmental burden. Cow-based bio-energy, biogas, and bio-CNG projects can ensure clean energy production and energy self-reliance in rural areas. Investments made through CSR in these sectors directly contribute to environmental conservation, reduction in carbon emissions, and the goals of a clean and sustainable India.

He also noted that cow-based micro and small industries such as dung-based products, diyas, incense, organic manure, handicrafts, and Ayurvedic products create vast self-employment opportunities for women’s self-help groups and rural youth. If CSR initiatives provide technical training, marketing support, and financial assistance to such projects, rural-to-urban migration can be significantly reduced. He clarified that the cow-based Brown Revolution is not merely an economic issue but a holistic approach encompassing culture, environment, health, and social harmony. This model strengthens the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat and provides a practical pathway to realizing Viksit Bharat@2047. Moreover, he stated that the cow-based Brown Revolution is not limited to economic growth but also delivers a strong message of global peace, mutual goodwill, and social unity to the world. He emphasized that this revolution has the potential to contribute to achieving the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set by the United Nations (UNO).

During his address, Dr. Vallabhbhai Kathiria announced that in March 2026, the Global Confederation of Cow Based Industries (GCCI) will organize Gau Tech–2026: Cow Based Global Summit & Expo in Pune. This global platform will focus on indigenous cow-based agriculture, natural farming, Panchagavya, cow-based industries, research, and modern technology. He stated that the international summit and expo will bring together farmers, scientists, entrepreneurs, startups, and policymakers on a single platform and play a leading role in giving new direction to the cow-based economy. He further added that Gau Tech–2026 will be a significant initiative in strengthening global collaboration for cow-based sustainable development, innovative research, and employment generation.

In conclusion, Dr. Vallabhbhai Kathiria urged corporate leaders, CSR heads, and policymakers to give strategic priority to cow service, natural farming, and rural industries in their CSR projects. He stated that “when CSR is linked with cow-based development, it will have the potential to transform not only society but the future of the entire nation.”
