World Youth Skill Day – 15th July 2025

On the auspicious occasion of World Youth Skill Day, it has become essential to provide new opportunities to the youth by considering India’s traditional, cultural, and economic values. In this direction, Dr. Vallabhbhai Kathiria, Founder of GCCI, Former Union Minister, and Former Chairman of the Rashtriya Kamdhenu Aayog, has suggested to the Ministry of Skill Development to promote “Cow-Based Skill Development Programs” and to include cow-based industries under its ambit. This initiative will open new directions toward self-reliance in rural India. Dr. Kathiria has emphasized the need to empower the cow-based economy by providing special training to women, youth, and Self Help Groups (SHGs) under various central and state government schemes. He has recommended the effective implementation of these training programs with the support of ministries like the Ministry of Women and Child Development, the Ministry of Rural Development through its Livelihood Mission, and others. The objective is to launch a wide range of value-added products derived from cow dung and cow urine. Training in areas such as cow rearing, Panchgavya product manufacturing, cow-based natural farming, cow tourism, cow dung and urine-based products, and cow-based Ayurvedic and Panchgavya therapies will open new avenues for youth in self-employment. This will not only preserve traditional knowledge but will also make the sector globally competitive by integrating modern technologies. Dr. Kathiria has requested that cow-based skills be officially recognized under the National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF) so that youth can receive certifications, standardization, and better market opportunities. This will strengthen India’s rural and agriculture-based economy and also help realize Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of “Vocal for Local” and “Atmanirbhar Bharat.” On this World Youth Skill Day, let us pledge to make the cow-based lifestyle and economy the foundation of youth empowerment and establish India as a cow-rich nation on the global stage.
