“Gau Tech 2026” is a Brown Revolution that will lead India towards sustainable development through the cow-based economy, stated Dr. Vallabhbhai Kathiria.
The cow possesses an extraordinary capacity for wealth creation, and every product associated with it contains inherent scientific and economic value. Gau Tech is an important platform to present these capabilities to the world, said Shri Mittal Khetani.
“Gau Tech 2026” will help in achieving the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations, said Shri Rameshbhai Ghetiya.
This event will realize the vision of Hon. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s “Atmanirbhar Bharat”, “Make in India”, “Start-up India” and “Vocal for Local”, said Shri Amitabh Bhattanagar.
The historic success of Gau Tech 2023, in which lakhs of people from India and abroad participated, many start-ups received investments, and several innovations were recognized, has become the main source of inspiration for “Gau Tech 2026”. Keeping this success in mind, Gau Tech 2026 is being organized in Pune, which will present India’s cultural heritage on a global platform.
With the sacred objective of realizing the vision of Hon. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for a Prosperous India, Great India and Divine India, the international organization “Global Confederation of Cow-Based Industries (GCCI)” is organizing “Gau Tech 2026”, a historic and global-level cow-based summit and exhibition. This event will be held from 20 March to 23 March 2026 at the Agriculture College Ground, Pune. Today, “Gau Tech” is emerging as the largest platform for cow-based industries not only in India but across the world. This event represents a unique confluence of culture, tradition, technology and innovation.
Former Union Minister, former Chairman of the Rashtriya Kamdhenu Aayog and Founder of GCCI, Dr. Vallabhbhai Kathiria, stated that in Indian culture, Gau Mata is revered as “Kamdhenu”. From cow milk, cow urine and cow dung, numerous products are being developed in the fields of health, agriculture, energy, sanitation, ecological environment and economic empowerment. “Gau Tech 2026” will bring all these possibilities onto one platform and create an environment of dialogue and collaboration among youth, women, gaushalas, start-ups, investors, entrepreneurs and policy makers.
Dr. Vallabhbhai Kathiria further said that in the present times, with the use of technology in cow breeding, businesses have been initiated under the PPP model with government support in areas such as development of superior bulls, sexed semen technology, embryo transplant, and establishment of semen laboratories. A strong international market has been developed for A2 milk of indigenous Indian cows and its value-added products like butter, ghee, buttermilk and medicinal ghee. From cow urine and cow dung, bio-pesticides and bio-fertilizers for organic farming, various medicines, repellents and sanitizers for environmental purification, and diverse household cosmetic products are being produced, creating employment and entrepreneurship opportunities for women and youth. From cow dung, products such as dung paint, plaster, colors, bricks, plywood, tiles, paper, and dung logs as an alternative to wood for cremation have created a vast market. In addition, bio-fuels such as biogas, CNG, CO₂ and hydrogen are being produced from cow dung and cow urine and supplied to various factories.
Pune has been selected for the organization of Gau Tech 2026 because it is a major educational, research and innovation hub of Maharashtra. Pune and its surrounding regions host many prestigious agricultural and animal husbandry universities, research institutions, technology-based start-ups, progressive farmer groups and active gaushalas. Pune’s strong ecosystem in natural farming, cow-based entrepreneurship, dairy development and agri-technology is perfectly aligned with the objectives of this event. Moreover, Pune’s strategic geographical location, excellent connectivity, modern infrastructure, and the presence of state and national-level institutions will provide an effective national and international platform for Gau Tech 2026.
Advisor to the Government of India’s Animal Welfare Board and General Secretary of GCCI, Shri Mittal Khetani, stated that under the leadership of former Union Minister and GCCI Founder Dr. Vallabhbhai Kathiria, “Gau Tech 2026” will strengthen initiatives such as “Make in India” and “Vocal for Local” on the path of Atmanirbhar Bharat envisioned by Hon. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Cow urine and cow dung available in gaushalas and panjarapoles are easily accessible raw materials that can be utilized across various industries. This initiative will further strengthen the visions of Clean India, Healthy India, Green India, Digital India and Make in India.
