On the occasion of National Nutrition Week (1st to 7th September), the Global Confederation of Cow-Based Industries (GCCI) emphasizes the importance of cow-based farming and organic food.

National Nutrition Week is observed from 1st to 7th September every year. On this occasion, the Global Confederation of Cow-Based Industries (GCCI) has appealed to society to adopt organic food and urged farmers to practice cow-based farming for building a healthy and sustainable future.

Nutritious food does not come from crops grown with chemical fertilizers, but from grains produced through cow-based organic farming/natural farming. Cow dung and cow urine act as natural fertilizers that enrich the soil, increase its fertility, and eliminate the harmful effects of chemical fertilizers and toxic pesticides. Food grown by this method is not only tastier but also rich in nutrients, which enhances immunity and strengthens overall health.

“Cows are the foundation of natural farming. With their use, soil becomes healthier, the environment remains pure, and we get clean, chemical-free food. Promoting cow-based farming is essential not only for our tradition but also for our health and the welfare of the entire world.”

According to nutrition experts, organic food produced through cow-based farming contains higher levels of antioxidants, essential minerals, and vitamins. This strengthens both physical and mental health, reduces the risk of lifestyle-related diseases, and develops natural immunity in children as well as the elderly.

A cow-based economy creates employment opportunities for farmers, rural entrepreneurs, and women’s self-help groups. From cow dung, organic fertilizers, pesticides, biogas, eco-friendly products, and natural medicines can be produced, thereby establishing a cow-based economy that benefits both society and the environment.

Excessive use of chemical fertilizers and toxic pesticides is reducing soil fertility, polluting water, and decreasing biodiversity. On the other hand, cow-based organic farming not only rejuvenates the soil but also promotes climate-friendly agricultural practices.

On this National Nutrition Week, GCCI has appealed to every citizen to adopt organic food in daily life, to parents to ensure chemical-free nutritious food for their children, to farmers to embrace sustainable cow-based farming, and to policymakers to encourage and support industries in this sector.

By adopting cow-based organic food, we can not only ensure a healthy life and superior nutrition, but also preserve India’s ancient knowledge traditions, protect the environment, and present an ideal model for the entire world.
